Exploring Sound/Timbre
This class introduces you to the basics of creating beautiful sound on the handpan. We'll explore how to get a clean tone, how your touch affects the sound, and how to listen for the natural resonance of the instrument. Using the Handpan Copenhagen Method, you'll learn to play with intention and simple techniques to bring out the unique voice and feeling of each note. Instruments are provided during the class.

Exploring Rhythm
This class introduces you to the basics of rhythm and groove. You'll learn to feel and play steady beats through clapping and tapping exercises, focusing on quarter-note and eighth-note grooves. Using the Handpan Copenhagen method, we'll practice simple rhythmic patterns that build timing, coordination, and flow in your playing. Instruments are provided during the class.

Exploring Dynamics
In this class, you'll learn how to control the volume and emotional expression of your playing. We'll guide you through exercises to practice smooth transitions from soft to loud sounds, how to accent specific notes, and how to shape your playing with intention. Using the Handpan Copenhagen method, we'll also explore the different dynamic possibilities of your instrument, helping you develop a more expressive and connected way of playing. Instruments are provided during the class.

Exploring Harmony
In this class, we introduce the basics of harmony on the handpan by playing two-note combinations and creating simple layered sounds. Through the Handpan Copenhagen method, you'll explore how intervals and chord-like structures can add depth and color to your playing - even at a beginner level. This class helps you build basic hand coordination and rhythmic independence - essential for fluid, expressive playing.
